Talk about a challenge. I doubt you will get 300 hp out of a 2.3l without some serious money. Junkyard parts aren't gonna cut it. I have two roomates that did turbos and it gets real expensive and real complicated.

i already have a 302........ and yes the junk yards not gonna have very many things for the turbo... i'm looking for some break stuff there.... but it'll have to be a completely custom kit.. but i know the right guys to do it....and have hookups at the machineing place

i got a video on my Pc of a guy that has 350 RWHP on a 2.3 with a T5 tranny and a 8.8 rear end

i'd rather see you throw that 5.0 in there. but i guess a turbo will be neat.

well i'd love to drop that 302 in there and be done with it ..... but anybody can do that.... the whole reason i'm doing this truck is for show....any old Joe can drop a motor in and run 3 wires and it fire up.... i'm just trying to do something diffrent that not everybody has.... to my knoledge there is no one with a 00+ turboed ranger 2.3 i'v even found a Supercharger for a 2.3 Duratrac motor i'm just looking for something diffrent..... i'd like to have the turbo cause it's still sound like a 4 banger... and every body thinks it's got a fart can and can't run.... then u pull up to a guy in a stock stang and give him a good shot of your tail lights hes thinkin to him self WTf just happend lol <--- thats why i want to do this... but we'll see i'm gathering parts

I know of a guy who races on a figure 8 dirt track with a built 2.3 over 300 rear wheel horsepower. He's put ALOT of work into that motor like port-polished...ect... The officals are starting to get pissed off at him, because he is beating v-8's. Its priceless the look on their faces when he tells them its a 4-banger!

yeah i know it's not gonna be easy and it'll take a while i'll gather parts and save money... and save some more.... and gather more parts and i'll probally start on it when i take the truck to get the front done cause the front will be torn apart and will be easy to work on... but there is also a S/c that is out for the new focus 2.3 :) so it'll have some aditive for some Hp

I'd rather have a Turbo'd 2.3 than a 5.0. I dunno why, I like the sound of a turbo more than the rumble of a V8 on a street truck. You cant beat the whistle of the blowoff valve! Good luck, I cant wait to see how it works out. I was going to do a 2.3T to my 93 when my 4.0 goes out, but ended up buying a new truck instead! Good luck!

I believe the late 80's had a 2.3 turbo in a T-bird, that may work on the older 2.3l. I don't believe the 2.3 focus kit will work "out of the box" on a Ranger.

Good luck, I hope you get this going, I'm real interested in seeing this in action. Kinda like that ZX351 focus that was posted a few months back...

yeah it will not be an out of the box but it can be done for arond 3 grand and be done right.... to where u could have 300 Hp at the wheels with 12-15 pounds of boost :) like i said we'll see i'm gonna do some more research and talk to a few more people.... but i'm doing something of the sort for sure
