I have a 1990 ford ranger 2.3l The fuse kept blowing for the brake light I look under the truck and there was 3 wires connected to my lights and they were just hanging by the frame
and there was another one drilled into my frame one of the wires that was connected to my lights was yellow with a brown stripe figured out it was the ground and another one is yellow and the last one is green I connected the yellow with the brown stripe to the ground and left the other two left and I wrapped them separate with electrical tape. My brake lights work now but my running taillights blow the fuse instantly and the running taillight and the brake fuses are not hooked up to the fuse I can’t figure it out any help would be great

Ford didn't change wire colors much for exterior lights
Rear Turn/brake share the same wire and filament by side
Light green/orange stripe for drivers side
Orange/light blue stripe for passenger side
