take off cone filter in winter?

i have a question,since i live in minnesota and it gets really cold up here,should i take off my cone filter and put my stock airbox on in the winter time.people tell me it is bad to have a cone filter on in the winter? is this true? thanks for the help

mine ran just fine. we dont get as cold as you but it was below zero a few times.

Why would that make a difference? If anything you will pull more warm air from around the motor rather than just behind the light. Either way I can't see a whole lot of temp difference in the air anyway.

Id rather get warmer air in the winter, better fuel mileage would be the result.

^^^^^ Definatly!!

Up here in the Great White North it can get bloody cold at times. I've had my cone filter for a few winters now and it hasn't caused me any grief yet.

You'll be fine with it in the winter months.
