There comes a time in every truck's life....

that is awesome news!
Having just bought my third Ranger (2 new/1 experienced) obviously I like this truck a lot. I admit, Ford has done nothing to keep the innovation flowing in this part of the market that they once owned. My 08 is basically still the same as my 93.
Their thinking is unchanged since back in the 70's when Henry Ford was speaking about the small car business and he stated that 'we don't think it will amount to anything, we don't do it well, and if the foreigners want it, we'll give it to them.' I watched the clip of this on a special 'The Toyota's are coming, The Toyota's are coming.' about how America put the Japanese in the car business. Never saw it aired again, but it was a a fantastic look at the events that changed the automotive world.
Guess that's still their attitude in a world moving toward more advanced fuel efficient everything.

^^^That isn't true at all. Well, the statements in the 70's maybe, but Ford has more powerful motors than ever with great fuel economy. Look at the Edge, 265hp out of a 3.5 liter, with 25 mpg highway (I am sure most would get better than that). Consumers care about fuel costs, so the big 3 care as well. Trust me, I know a lot of people in the car business, they are aware of the need for more fuel efficient vehicles. look at GM and Dodge with the active fuel management and multiple displacement systems in large trucks. Granted, the increases aren't astronomical, but its a start, and from what I hear, Ford has a new V8 for the F150 that will have some type of cylinder deactivation as well...
