Bilstein BE5-2794 (front) and BE5-2795 (rear) are excellent replacements for the FX4. They are are a little firmer than the original FX4 L2 shocks. They are built to Bilstein specification rather than Ford specifications. The Ford spec Bilstein shocks give a smoother ride on the street but are a bit mushy off-road. The Bilstein spec shocks still give a decent ride on the street but are much better off-road.

Thanks, IN2 FX4. I had tossed around the idea of Rancho's but think I'd rather stick w/Bilstein's. Part #'s are super helpful.

Here's the funny thing Dave, I put mine on yesterday, was talking to rob about what you posted about $20 shocks and in the box is an ad for those exact shocks and that exact price. I'm gonna call today and see if they will price adjust.

I called summit today, they didn't honor. Claimed the cheepers were only til 06 and extended/compressed lengths and mounts could be different.

Having a helluva time trying to locate non heavy duty Bilstein's. Seems like places only have HD..what's up with that? Kinda want to stay away from the HD's for a little smoother ride.

If you live in canuckle land, you can get any bilsteins from Essex distributors. Prices will bring you under what it costs to get state side, and shipping is 20 bucks for an entire set.

After a quick look I found this link http://www.shocksonline.com/bilstein...'2002' that has the BE5-2794 and 2795 listed. They list them as HD shocks but I don't think they are rough riding.

Yep I found that exact site (among others). So it's looking like that's the route I'll be going. Thanks! Sure will be nice to have new shocks...
