Hmmm. There isn't any cars that I know of that offer than since its a safety feature. Kind of like they didn't offer an air bag off switch unless you have a truck and the purpose of that is in case you have a car seat in the front. Maybe that car had it but no modern car has a switch to turn the ABS off.

#14 fuse the blue and pink wire.... all the trucks +98 that come with abs are the same (#14 bl/pk)

Great mod, nice write up too. just throwing it out there that when the abs is off it kills the speedometer and if it's off too long you will get a CEL for "vehicle speed sensor circuit." But a am looking forward to being able stop in the snow this winter.

 

Yup that happens, but then after i turn it back on the cel will go away.

 

speedometers on these trucks are off of wheel speed, not driveshaft speed? so this means that you can change the rear diff, without having to change the spedo gear (like my mustang)?

 

I'm going to need to do this also. Where did you get that button switch? and why do you need to know what fuse it is? I thought the bl/pk wire is all you needed to worry about.

 

01 and up trucks read driveshaft speed at the tranny for the 2wd trucks or with an oss sensor in the extension housing on 4wd trucks.. 98(i think) to 00 used the rear abs sensor.

 

^ the switch i used was actually from a fog light kit my dad bought for our jeep, but we used an exhisting switch in the jeep. so i just had it around. any switch will work it doesnt have to light up like mine, allthough it is cool.

 

my 99 had a speed sensor in the rear diff until i swapped axles from an older truck, the speedo still worked. 98-00i be;ieve can from the t-case? But I know it wasnt the rear.
