Smoke out the exhaust
hey guys, I have a 91 ford ranger that I did a head gasket on and it was running great, well the next night it got stolen and when I got it back yesterday after digging it out of the sand and towing it home, I put a new battery in it and now its smoking blue out the exhaust. can anyone help me with this? im thinking piston rings but hoping that's not it.

How about retighten the head… simple but it might work.
Maybe the person who stole it “Drove it like he stole it” and heated it up to the max, could have burnt the gasket again.
Start with the east things, retightening bolts, checking compressions, look at the oil when you start working on it, smell it, if burnt smell change it. Do all of the checking before changing the oil, wait until you are done with any work then change the oil and filter.
