When I turn to the left I hear clicking noises and when I break I also hear it, but I do not hear it when I turn to the right. I can't really explain it to much it sounds like i'm twisting an old metal rusted up object or something. Any idea? I'm pretty sure I messed up something off roading so If i do bring it in to Ford what precautions should I take so they won't know that i did it

does it do that noise while the wheel is completely turned and youre going up a driveway or something with a bump? take it to ford and deny anything.

ford will tell you its the steering stops, so save one trip to the dealer and get you some grease, find the metal nubs on your lower control arms that your brake calipers hit on full turns and smear them with the grease. if that doesnt work, then take it to the dealer

I had the same problem with my 2000. Took it in, and they replaced I think everything that was associated with the steering to try and fix the problem. But nothing seamed to work.

Mine does the same thing, but I have been too lazy to crawl under to take a look. From what I have heard from others with the same problem...it is the "rubbing" that causes the clicking.

if its when you go over a bump or are leaning in, its most likely the steering stops. to test that you can turn all the way and go up a driveway.
