Wanna Laugh?

stock: 1999 ranger 4x4 xlt 4.0 with every tinker toy u can think of from the factory in them days....

well my ranger being stock i gotta say is BAD A** couldnt even imagine it with lift kit and such....

well we have this place by my house that we call 50th.

and down here in Fl is has rained like CRAZY for about 10 days now...

everything is FLOODED

So I take my truck out to 50th on the regular to throw bonfire parties and go muddin. But now its crazy muddy and u can only mud out there. Well i have a bud named maverick that thinks hes pretty kool for haveing a chevy 1500 on a 6 inch lift on 33 inch super swampers. I think my truck can run more than him anyday... so he calls me out 2 50th and we start rompin the mud. hes followin me in two wheel drive as i am in two wheel drive to... hes strugglin along behind me as my light ford is truckin through everything on street tires. So knowing the worst spots in 50th pretty well. I decide that im goin to get maverick stuck in this one spot my buddy in a 250 got stuck in that I drive right through with no problem. We get to the spot and i start to go and i sink in 2 wheel drive.... so i flip it over to 4 wheel drive and i am going no problem... well i forgot how stuck my buddy in the 250 was... but i remeberd pretty darn well when i hit his rut and the the hole front passenger side of the truck went under. leaving the drivers side rear end clear off the ground and my truck engine filling with water.... my buddy (that has been in my truck with me the hole time)looks up (yes up his side was FAR down there) and says BRO your truck is filling with water... i jump outa the truck hook the strap up in under 3 secs and get maverick to pull me out in about 10 secs...

guess it wasent quick enouph cuz my truck didnt wanna start after that.. water was everywhere in the engine... the oil looked like karamel or light choco milk.... we run to the auto store. get oil. drain her. fill er up. and after a couple good cranks and starting fluid she fires up for about 3 seconds. After some more work and alotta smoke coming outa the muffler.. she started to idle and sound like that tough 4.0 she is!!

air filter was shot. rug was wet... my algebra 2 book that was in my truck got wet and grew about 15 inches in width lol... hope the school dosent ask questions when i give that thing back lol.

anyway i have done three oil changes and i am doing the last one 2morow to make sure she is cleaned out. in my opinion she runs better now =] and that shows how strong them 4.0s are =]] haha

needless to say maverick who didnt belive my truck could run alot. came up to me after all that and said Dan.... you got one hell of a little truck. lets get that baby lifted and itll be unstopable. =] haha

needless to say to all of yall but I LOVE MY FORD RANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you took out the spark plugs and cranked it for a little bit before trying to start it for real? If not, your engine may be in for a world of hurt, as well as your pocket.

Sounds like a good time.

no i just did 4 oil changes..... do i need to do what u said with the spark plugs?

and i was in such a frenzy to get the darn thing outa the hole i didnt take ANY pics im so sorry guys haha

but me and my buddy went with his 99 ranger yesterday back to the same hole.... he has a superlift on 33s and he sunk his truck in hte same hole. filled the inside and water was about an inch away from his intake.... its one hell of a hole... i was surprised it ate his lifted ranger... that just means im gunna have to put mine on 35s with a superlift and 3 inch body =]]

If you sucked water into the engine, and have had it running, thats a bad thing if it gets to the pistons. Remember, water doesn't compress, if water is in you cylinders and the engine runs, you may bend some internals.
