Weird Tranny issues?

Hard to explain!

When I had my cruise set my truck every once in a while would jerk. Not hard just feel a little pull kinda like the rpm climb 100 RPMs and the tranny grabed again.

Well then I was going down the interstate about 80MPH and it did it again. Felt like it started to down shift then decieded not too and hit overdrive again. Its not real noticible. Passengers don't notice it too much but I do. Only happends once in a great while. I was pulling a trailer last week and it never did it. Only when there is no weight. Maybe happends 2 times a week. My tranny dosen't do it on take off etehr. I did a smoky burnout the other day and beat on it a little to see if it would do it and nothing?????????

Do not know what the hell that thing is lol. I did however just get my tranny serviced. Complete flush and filter change...the whole 9 yards and it didn't do it till after that. The fluids are all full. BTW my truck is all stock. (engine wise)

Who did the service on the tranny? They could have put the wrong fluid in it...

Do you have a limited slip rear end. My truck does something similar and we think we determined it to be the limited slip causing the issues. I still haven't done anything about it tho.

EDIT: wait you got a level 2 so you have a torsen rear and I don't think those have the same issues the clutch type rears do.

Mine does the same thing Josh.

Next time you set cruise at any speed, dont let your foot off the gas until you KNOW the CC has engaged to the same speed you set it at.

Basically, what happens with mine, i'll set it to cruise at 75 (or any speed), then let off the gas as soon as i hit the set button. Well, it takes a second for the CC to engage fully and if i let my foot of the gas early it has to increase speed to get back to 75, which feels like a jerk until the truck is back up to speed.

Yea the fluid is fine. I only turn the OD off when I need to. My little trailer I rarely have too. Only time I turn it off is when we hit the bigger hills in MIchigan

Nah that is not the problem I have been harder on the Dodge with no troubles. Your trailer yes it is good to turn it off. My trailer pulls so easy its unbelivible.

Edit: Plus it never has its hicups when its loaded it has the hicup when its not loaded.

josh, sounds like your problem is right in line with the problems i am having now.....except for mine seems to be a slow shift into 3 and 4 gears.......then it takes FOREVER to go into OD....

clean your fuel injectors, my truck was doing the same thing. around 1800 rpm the truck would jerk and shudder like the tranny was slipping but it was the engine misfiring

Kinda but it seems to want to change its mind too much. Like when you are running 55 and you want to go 58 and hit the gas. It acts like it wants to downshift then all of a sudden decides it dosen't at the same time and jerks.
But it dosen't happen very often. I am going to reset it tommorow
