Went to a Junkyard today!!
hey that hood looks to be an easy fiberglass fix, just fold over and sand... but repaint is where it hurts...
IIRC those that do the edge hood swap on the 01- usually have to cut the edge of the whole hood so it sits flush, so, you might could get away with it?

The damage on the hood isn't all that bad at all.....did I read that right? $30 for the hood? GET IT!! You can fix it yourself using some fiberglass bondo stuff....you can get it almost perfect, then drop it off to the painter to finish it up and BAM! you've got a powerdome hood. I highly suggest spending the little bit of money, learn bodywork on fiberglass, and possibly even spray it yourself. DO IT!!
NO cutting or trimming needed to fit the 98-00 or 01-03 2wd grilles.....fits like a glove.
Oh...and if the flares are in 'okay' shape, I'd totally grab those and throw 'em on your truck.

After hitting a pheasant I had hood damage very similar to that. I fixed the damage to the hood for the cost of bondo and had it resprayed for $100. For $30, you bet your *** I'd be buying that hood!
I'd grab those flares too. They're pricey and if you don't want them someone else will, like me for instance, I need a rear passenger side flare.

alright I won't be able to go back til next week, I'm working doubles everyday this week. I've got my paint in a spray can, and I also have clear could I just paint it myself?
Why the flares? They don't have those stupid built-in mudflaps, and they are all around a better looking flare to me, as well as many many others. I don't like how the bodyline is carried into them. Toreador4x4 and Redneckstone both have Gen4's like you, and both are running Gen5(01-05) flares on their trucks...If I ever owned a Gen4, I'd be rockin' Gen5 flares. They'll bolt...err...they'll snap right into place of your old ones.
all ive got to say, is i love Cash for clunkers. i went to the yard earlier and found 6 complete OHC's a ton of new seats (next weeks task) several new rangers (all my gen)
and a bII bar (got that the other day) but i also found one of those cargo covers for my truck!
