What is a 2000 Ranger worth with no title?

There is a 2000 ranger on craigslist locally for sale with no title. I believe it has a 4 cyl with a auto trans. It has cruise control from the pics which I would like to add. The big thing is no title. I was gonna offer him $500 and sell all of the parts I don't want on ebay or here. Then just keep the running body and take it to our property in kentucky and beat the hell out of it. It is 2wd.

I don't plan on re-titling it. He wants $2000 or trade for a mustang. I laughed.

Im pretty sure you can have a cop do it. Call your police department and ask them.

i wouldn't waste my time on it. Spending the money to put stuff on ebay to get a couple bucks back isnt worth my time

Here is what he sent me:

"It's at my daughter's house so I can't just go out and look but it is
somewhere in the neighborhood of 100,000 miles. It is a 4 cylinder automatic
My son tore up 1st gear, but it still drives, you just take off in 2nd gear
then shift to drive.I just can't get a title for it.If I could I would be
driving it myself.I really love the truck."

He can easily get a title but it takes over a month to get and some bs you have to go through to get it but it can be done.

Tell him to call his daughter and have her give him the VIN over the phone. If he still gives you the run around then forget about it. Its probably stolen. There are lots of scammers that put items on craigslist and some people that are not so smart get screwed.

This is what he sent me:

"No it isn't stolen.I really don't like to talk about it.It involves a
bankruptcy a couple of years ago. "

I told him I would offer him $500. It would be hard to get your money back if you sold the parts off of it. In Indiana, it is to much of a ***** to try to get a title. I have tried before. No junkyard around here will take vehicles without titles. And, the transmission is shot.

He sounds like he is full of shiat!
Bankruptcy he says? That has nothing to do with the title unless the truck was not paid for at the time. If that was the case then they would of taken the truck.

No title = turn and run.... not worth a penny if there's no title

If it's really a bankruptcy then the only explaination is somehow he got away with a truck he never paid for meaning some bank has the title... same as stolen
