For five bucks you can get a six-fuse fuse panel at AutoZone. Install it under the dash or in your center console. Run two or four gauge fused wire to it from the battery, then like 10gauge or whatever you want off it to your switches and your lights. I did that and it let me run 7 lights my train horns and my compressor. It's the right way to do it. Stealing power from other things is going to hurt you, it may not have a big enough fuse and the wire may not be big enough. Just to many ways to screw the truck up. Electrical problems can be the most costly to have fixed because of all the hours of tracing wires that must be done.

Would I need a bigger wire/or fuse between the power and switch for the extra load of 4 lights? ..and could I run this to the battery instead of the fuse box or headlight wire as long as I keep the in line fuse close to the battery?
