what up, long time no talk... well im selling my f-150 and lookin to get a ranger again. i wanted everyones opinions... i definitely want a 5-speed, and cant decide if i should stick it out and wait till i find a 4.0(which i had in my last ranger and loved) or settle for a 3.0. also idk if i should get a single cab or extra cab. i really miss my ranger tho lol it's been a year and a half since i got rid of it, and i want another one.
If your staying on the street get 4.0L auto, 4.10 L/S ext cab 4 dr. 2 wd.
While the're shifting your going. Buy a tuner and work the engine and tranny over to suit you.
If you really just like to shift gears then get the manual tranny.

why in the world are you downgrading? I had a ranger and loved it, but after having the F150 XLT 4x4 ext cab I would never trade it for a ranger, although I would probably take a ranger over any other full size truck out there. And I dont notice a much differance in gas milage. Went from 16 down to 15 but have double the truck. But if you go back to a ranger deffinantly get the extended cab 4.0 and 4x4. Transmission be your preferance
4.0 5spd Xcab, love mine. Do a lot of fishing? Get the auto, flat country get the 5spd, hills or mountains do the auto. Depends upon where you live as to what you like best. Boatramps with a stick sux. Ditto coming from a start going uphill from a light. Flatland driving the stick gives better mpg once you learn the tricks, and is more fun to drive. I live in hilly country and fish and own a stk, so I'm not comparing apples to oranges. Where I'm at an auto would be better suited for me. Something to think about.

this time after i decided i wanted a ranger i looked at and drove almost 20 different ones, it takes alot of time and running but its time well spent
because i dont like caviar lol, but really the 150 gotta go, gas milage sucks, insurance is just wayyy too expensive, and i really want a ranger again. and i have a corolla for a commuter vehicle, so i wont be out of a vehicle while looking for another truck...
