What's the name of this part? It's some sort of anti-scratch bumper on both my doors (1996 splash model). It's fallen apart and scratched up so I'm curious how hard it would be to find a replacement.

I see it listed for step-side not Splash specific, 1994 to 1998, discontinues of course, lol

 

Ford seems to call it Door Molding, Finish Panel Cladding.

This was also used in the mid to late 2000s Rangers (2006 newer) so you may be able to find a new old stock parts house that still has them.

 

Yes! Mine is a step-side. I also saw it listed on XLT models but it seemed to be mainly splash models. This Ranger has gone through 4 owners and has been this way as long as I've been around it. thank you

Yes that first part number was year 1999, starts with X

This one is 2006 part number: 6L5Z-1020878-APTM
Starts with 6

Ford part numbers are not specific to the vehicles model year but the last revision year
From 1999 and up the first digit is the year the part was first made or latest revision
X = 1999
Y = 2000
1 = 2001

L5 = Ranger model, or Mazda B-series

Not sure if the 6L5 part will fit your 1996

Not sure why it would be "regular cab" only, doors on regular cab or extended cab are interchangeable, same size
And doors were the same size 1993 thru 2011, mirrors mounts did change in 2006 I think
