Who here bought a base ranger new?

I have an 02 Edge 4x4 and I think I have come to the conclusion that I am going to trade it in. I want to get new 08 base model short bed, regular cab, 4cyl, 5spd. I want something that gets great gas mileage. The only thing I need is a/c. I am just wondering how much you guys paid for yours. I found a new one locally for 12,900. My truck is paid for so I should only be a few thousand shyof the total cost after trade in. In an ideal world i would be able to find a low mileage used 05-08 to trade even for, but thats a long shot.

Honestly.. if yoru looking for the gas mileage.. you might be good putting a quick cold air intake and a coupel other fuel saver mods onto the base model..s traight quick bolt ins... maybe top you up aroun 24-25 MPG's

That.. or just get a civic

I get 20 MPG average highway city combined. 70% of my driving is Highway, and 30% is city. My truck is a 3.0L V6 2004.

I bought my ranger for 14,000, but I had a discount.

PM me if your looking to get a discount.

My dad bought a '01 XL base base base model ranger for the lost leader price of $8888. He had A/C installed and I installed a stock ranger cd player in it. I think the A/C was like 1200 bucks....something like that.

I then bought the truck from dad, then realized how crappy a reg cab, 4cyl, base model is......he bought it back, then my little brother bought it from him....it's now slammed on 17s with stereo and the works.

I got mine used in 2004, a 2002 with 27k miles, cloth, A/C, Auto, Rear Slider, all for $7900 before taxes..

If you plan to get an XL buy used, there are lot out there, then make it your own..

There is alot of stuff that will swap over from other rangers so you can make it look diffrent.

When I traded my o3 xl in it looked like a reg. cab edge I had to tell them iwas just a XL model
