Why A Ranger?
Why A Ranger?
I am seriously about to buy a ranger, but right now as a general question-Why do you guys have rangers rather than full-size trucks? I dont mean anything bad at all about rangers, just curious. Post the reason you bought a ranger rather than a full-size truck.
gas milage is better thena fullsize
4.0L puts out a lot of power for the size of the rig
Smaller truck = more trails im able to go on
My dad has a explorer so we can mod togeather
big point was the 4.0L rocks i went to the sales lot and said show me the 4.0L with 4wd only (and the dumbass didnt know what i was talking about..)

At the time, I didn't think I'd need a fullsize. Now that I own one and a full size truck, I'm glad I have the Ranger. It gets much better mileage and is easier to drive through some areas.
Can't go down a lot of trails in full-size vehicles unless you want unnecessary body damage and for some reason I had always wanted a ranger, don't know why but did.
So now I'm on my second one.

Easier to wheel than a full size. Gets through tighter spaces and is much much lighter so it doesn't get deep down as a full size. I have made it through things that bigger trucks get stuck in.
Gas mileage. You are not going to get as good of mileage in a bigger truck.
Price when I bought this truck I couldn't afford a full size.
I love rangers, bronco II's and explorers. The ranger was the best vehicle I could find for the price that met the needs that I had at the time.

Better on gas, good price, 4.0 has some ***** in this small light truck. Hauls all the firewood and dirt I need, tows my boat fine, fits in the garage better, insurance is cheap on it, always wanted a Ford. I will think of more.... :)
Best bang for the buck, passed up a fullsize ram and a silverado for this little truck
good gas mileage
has impressed me many times with hauling and doing work
looks good
better insurance
does everything i need it to
-If you get one, if you can afford, get the supercab with 4.0 and 4x4, they rock

Price was reasonable. I didn't need all the bells and whistles a full size had, not to mention the price of them. I barely use my truck for a truck as it is, I just wanted 4x4 and a bed to sleep in at the beach.

iv owned a ranger before but it was a 4 cyl single cab... good but not great. when i went looking for a new rig it needed to be able to load a whole elk in the back (if possible… never is) so all suv’s where out of the question. area behind the seats (whether it was a supercab, crew cab, or quad cab) and good gas mileage (15 or better) the thing that sold me was I could get 16.5 plus on the mileage (just got 20.24) while still having power to easily climbing hills. I have room in the back for gear when its raining, I can hold an elk in the bed and if need be. They can also get back far enough in to the woods to make recovery a lot easier. Rangers can get off the beaten path pretty well when equipped.
Plus real men don’t need a full size to try and prove anything
Can't say anything that hasn't been said already, but I was so happy with my first Ranger that I went and bought another when it got totalled. Sometimes I wish for a crew cab, but beyond that it's a wonderful truck that does just what I need it to do and never gives me any trouble.
I am going to college and need a new ride. But I still needed a truck. It is only me and my brother. I was looking at a fullsize chevy single cab. But When I went to the ford dealership I could get a new truck for less than a used fullsize truck.
I don't need a fullsize truck.
Plus save me a lot of gas. I spend about $20 a week on gas. I can get a little over 200 miles. On my grandfather's truck i was doing $20every two three days.
plus my truck has a/c. It gets hot in Texas.

I got a Ranger so I wouldn't have to pay $50 something to fill up my truck with gas. I didn't have to 3 1/2 years ago. I also didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for tires, but I will be upgrading to larger tires soon. I didn't need a large truck, but still need a truck.
