Icon5 Would you buy it?

Well i am going to look at a '99 Ranger Flareside to replace my F150, he is asking 5 grand and won't take a cent less. i think it's a OK price, inputs? i don't really want the 3.0 again, but i wouldn't mine putting an explorer 5.0 in it, but the 3.0 worked fine last time and it's just my DD. gonna have to update the front too. it's rust free from the east coast. he has no idea if the driveshaft was changed either. so would you buy it for 5g's?

Man I wish you were closer, I'd take that Rancho lift of your hands. I wouldn't pay 5 for that truck but thats just me personally.

yea it's a great kit IMO

On a side note, that truck stock goes for 5grand up here, 4x4's go for a premium because every retard has to have one.

Damnit, beat me to it! lol
I was going to say the same thing about the Rancho kit
The price is a little high. I sold my 98 ranger 2 years ago for about 5k with more mileage, but it was in great shape (4x4 4.0L 5spd), custom bumper, nice cap, good tires, new wheels, manual hubs, blah blah blah. It did have 145k miles though.
Look over the thing real good before you make a decision. I don't remember what year you had, but check the ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel bearings and stuff.
Also if it has stock gearing the thing has got to be miserable to drive.

Curious as to why? That is what the truck books for? I bought my '99 same truck but a 4door back in 2002 for 11,500 and it only had 35k miles though, then i rolled it, whoops, just sick of the F150

I just realized it is an automatic. That would be my biggest concern for sure. Especially (again) if it has stock gearing, then that thing has put up with some abuse.
Probably not a bad truck overall as long it is taken care of.

the dork that has it bought it from a car dealer in georgia and has it shipped to WI, so now snow or rust on it yet, he said he put only 10k miles on it and has no idea about anything. might as well talk to a damn rock he is selling it because he bought a bigger truck to pull his sled hauler, supposedly.

my 99 had 33's and 4.10's and it was alright, not super quick

For reference, here is my 98 when I sold it about 2 years ago. I believe I got just a hair over $5k for it. It was in great condition (inside/out) and ran great. The only thing not good was the used tires I put on it (about half tread).

I know, people need to pull their heads out of their buttholes.
I'm thinking about buying another ranger (similar years) and I can not believe the prices people think their POS cars/trucks are worth.

Here you go, a 20 year old regular cab, 2wd ranger for $2,000. lmao

i know tell me about it, but even if i would 1000 bucks more for a truck that is already lifted it will save me $$$ in the long run, sell the crappy rims and tires for like 250, then i just need to put new rims and tires for now...i would love to 5.0 it, but just not worth it, yea know...i think 5 is a fair price, he said the body is mint and the interior is flawless, which is a good thing, WI winters are damn rough on sheetmetal.

I'd say if it is clean, the tranmission shifts well and the front end is tight it would be a fair deal. Realistically the front end stuff isn't that hard to replace anyway, I guess.
