I have an opportunity to purchase a 2005 FX4 with 138,000 miles on it which is great condition cosmetically. I'm not sure if the vehicle had one or two owners but if I had to guess I would say one owner who took really good care of it. I would be purchasing it from a small dealer who purchased it from an auction. The truck seems to run good is there anything I should be worried about for this year? do you think this particular model is a good buy?

Welcome to the group. You listed in your profile you owned the same truck. As far as a good buy? You didn't list a price. So maybe I need more information.

My Ranger is a 2001 with 165K on it. Was it a good buy? I think so. I did need to do a lot to it after I got it. I still have another project to do.

Being part of this forum makes project trucks easier to own. Lots of great help here.

I have 220K miles on my 02 FX4 and have had only, what I call, maintenance replacement items. That price seems a little high but then again I would not sell mine for that price. If you like it and are happy with the price, go for it.

 

I would. You just can't beat rangers, and the new ones they intend to sell in the states are going to be a disappointment to ranger fans, I think.

 

I didn't get it b/c i felt the price was a little on the high side as well. I think for close to that price I can find a Ranger with lower mileage.

 

I just checked there site and it sold I wonder if someone on here saw the link I posted and went and bought it if so I'm glad I could help.
