hi all! replacing the burnt-out radio in my 84 ranger (i believe it’s a 74-76 ford truck radio at the moment) with a new 1983-88 radio/tape deck. i have the speaker wiring figured out fine, but have a question about the three other wires.

on my truck’s harness, i have the following:

blue/red stripe—illumination (?)
yellow/black hash marks—key power
light green/yellow stripe—memory (?) I believe this is hot all the time but don’t exactly know its purpose

on the tape deck/radio harness, i have the following

blue/red stripe—illumination (?) (at least this matches an existing wire)
yellow/black hash marks—key power
orange—i read somewhere this is possibly power antenna? but my truck doesn’t have that i don’t think.

i know the blue/red connects to blue/red, and yellow/black goes to yellow/black. my 84 wiring diagram from my electrical manual doesn’t show any orange wire coming from/going to the deck.

would the light green/yellow connect to orange, or is there some sort of other wire missing from the deck? anyone know what that orange wire is for? the green wire?
