1986 ford ranger engine harness.

so we just pulled the ranger out of the field and the wiring harness is shot it would take more work and headache to repair it then replace it so i pulled it out hoping to find the part number but no luck. does anybody know what the part number if it there is one for sale for it. it has the factory ac, cruise control, the 2.9 manual 2x4. with a lot of interior accessories like premium sound which the head unit is missing and i am not sure about the speakers but i have an extra head unit form my grand marquis that i stick in her for now.

Welcome to the forum

I doubt new would be around

Used may be available from someone who did a swap from 2.9l to 4.0l or 5.0l engine

You can used 1986 to 1989 2.9l Ranger or Bronco II engine wiring harness
2WD or 4x4 doesn't matter

i know that 1989 had a fuse box in the line and 88 there was a different vacuum thingy on the pass fender. so i doubt those 2 years have them and there are some new ones on ebay but not sure which one is the correct one.

That's not engine harness, that's the engine bay harness, two different things.
Engine bay harness plugs into firewall connector, it also has charging system wiring but thats easy to add after the fact

There are a few cross over wires but not many

"Vacuum thingy" would most likely be for EGR valve and that was used on 1986 and 87, 1988 to 1992 didn't use them
But its only 1 wire to add, to computer, other wire is 12volt key on which is available to splice in at any fuel injector, EEC relay, IAC valve or TFI
