1995 2.3 gauge cluster

Alright so i saved this truck from my grandpa and its going good, i finally got the speedometer and odometer to work, however odometer only works sometimes, airbag light works and battery light works, battery level and fuel pressure work.

the fuel gauge works very very rarely, i think i need a new thermo for that gauge to work because it moves its just in the wrong spot. Yet not one actual dash light works, not for the numbers check engine nothing. Just the battery and airbag lights.

So should I replace the whole cluster or is it an electrical issue i need to solve?

1995 was an oddball year for Ranger clusters, has different wiring than 1994 and earlier, AND 1996-2003 clusters, so its unique, 2004 and up were digital

So not interchangeable, can only use a 1995 Cluster, and it is pre-wired for Tach so if you don't have one in current cluster you can use a 1995 cluster that has tach, engine size doesn't matter for clusters in any year

If you pull out your cluster look for its part number on the back, F57F-10849 is what you should see, if it starts with F6 to F8 its a 1996 to 1998 cluster which is your issue

Odometer worm gear is the usual culprit when its not reliable, its inside the cluster
Fuel gauge issues is usually the Anti-slosh module on the back of the cluster, separate circuit board the pulls out, common failure on Rangers/Fords, can be bypassed, Google it

As for the warning lights could just be bad bulbs, 27 years old bulbs
Check fuses 11, 15 and 25 in Cab fuse box

Below is the wiring differences, they used the same "devices" wires are just in different locations on the same 3 connectors, so you could re-pin your 1995 connectors to work on a 1996-2003 cluster if you wanted to
