1995 battery saver relay location

I have a 1995 ranger 4wd xlt 4l v6. Having problems with all interior lights, cargo light, under hood light, wipers and washer not working. I suspect the gem module as all fuses check ok and it seems improbable that multiple relays in these systems would all fail at the same time. Before I replace the gem module I wanted to test the battery saver relay as it controls all the lighting functions (not sure about wipers). Can’t find the darn thing. Other posts in this forum place it under the hood, next to the steering column, etc. but not in my truck as far as I can tell. Seems like ford placed these in only one location in 1995, where is it?

Welcome to the forum

1995 is an odd ball year, just FYI, it was the first year for:
new EEC-V engine computer
electric speedometer
GEM
battery saver relay
Fuse panel location
And relay box #1

Battery saver relay should be in Relay box 1
It is in the cab, above gas pedal area, it has a black cover over it, with 4 to 6 relays under it

Here is a picture of it with cover removed, the blue relay is at the top of it: https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...d-p9230008.jpg

General layout here: http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/sa...relays_one.gif
Gen

GEM uses 4 fuses, in cab fuse box, 10, 20, 25 and 28

Battery saver relay is power by fuse 7 in engine fuse box

Hi Ron

Thanks for the response. I had to make a new login acct as I was unable to log back on as Scottb for some reason.
i did find a relay box above the gas pedal as you had indicated. However, mine is a bit different from the diagram you gave me a link to. My relay box has two banks of four relays in it. I attached a photo (hope it works). Would you have a diagram showing which relays are which in this box?
thanks,
Scott Bauer

Weird that they seem to have so many variations in the same year and no diagrams.must have been in an experimental phase or something. Hopefully, someone else may have info. Thanks anyway!
