98 ranger 3.0 no key

98 ranger 3.0 no key

I have a 98 ranger 3.0 stick 4x4 my key tumblers froze up and i ended up drilling out the locking mechanism got tge key out and i ended up breaking something in the ignition with a screw driver. Trying to get it started to go run through some mud. If anyone can help me out id appreciate it.

No the trucks not stolen. The truck sat for 2 years. When i put my key in it wouldnt turn. I sprayed it and still stuck..So i sprayed it again and with channell locks tried to turn it over and it snapped something on the inside. Its just a woods buggy but i need to find a way to get power to everything with out the key. Can i tear the ignition off. And is it a plunger like the older trucks where i can push the rod in to get power. I didnt get into anything yet till i get some insight. Ive never messed with ignitions before.

Yes, ignition switch is under the steering column above brake pedal area

The key on the column pushes and pulls a rod that slides ignition switch into its 4 positions, just as you described

But steering wheel may still be locked
