1996 Ranger 4.0 Lock Switch cylinder
1996 Ranger 4.0 Lock Switch cylinder
When replacing a faulty ignition lock, a small plastic retainer with a tiny electrical contact fell off the side of the cylinder housing. This is located at lower left (from approximately 200 degrees to 270 degrees) as you look into the cylinder. The small contact fits through the outside of the housing into the sleeve where the new key lock fits up. It had a small plastic tab that appears to have held it in place. Without this component in place the vehicle will not start.
I cannot identify this component from any literature that I have. This is a 2006 Ranger 3.0L 5-speed transmission.
Help identifying this component and how to find a replacement would be greatly appreciated.
