Ok, so this is just a beater truck I have just to hone on all the time. It is a 2.5L 4cyl, 5 speed, 2wd. So i have a 1998 cab that I put on a 2000's frame. I have power to the radio, battery gauge and oil gauge. However I have no power to the engine. I have a feeling I need to swap the computers. I know where they are but how to I switch them? Please LMK what I should do. I am 15 and I built this truck over the summer because we got another ranger to replace. However I wanted to have a beater.

Yes, the computer needs to stay with the engine
The computer is in the firewall of the 2000 cab and can be removed and put in the 1998 cab

After connector is off remove the two outter nuts and remove computer
