2.3L Starter is CLICK CLICK BOOM!
2.3L Starter is CLICK CLICK BOOM!
I've just recently changed my clutch disc, pressure plate, and slave on my 02' 2.3L. However, since reassembly I cannot get it to fire and run.
The starter just goes "click, click, click, click" and drains the battery.
I thought maybe the starter pinion got stuck somehow in the flywheel so I tried turning the engine over by hand, but it didnt do anything.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Just for clarification: There are 3 wires and 3 terminals on the starter.
Red is hot, black is ground, and the thinner gauge yellow wire goes to the small terminal. Right?
Hooked up like that it just clicks.
What does the smaller gauge wire do? Where should it be hooked up?
Man, after doing all the clutch work I am anxious to test drive it....

You starter is wired different than I am used to. The starters i have worked with are grounded through the starter. If your is as you have listed, try testing the starter with it Not mounted to the trans. The smaller yellow wire is the signal wire that runs to the ignition system.
