2008 2.3 OBD not working
Hello, new to the forum and Rangers. Bought an 08 ranger 2.3 for a daily commuter vehicle, apparently the previous owner deleted a code because right around 250-300 miles the truck engine light came on. Truck runs good other than idling high sometimes which is really annoying. I plugged the scanner into the truck and it won't read. Did some troubleshooting and realized the obd isn't getting power. All the fuses are good, but don't see one labeled for obd, read somewhere that it is linked to cigarette lighter, the left cigarette lighter doesn't work either but right one does. I don't see a fuse labeled for the cigarette lighter? Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum
In my 2008 Ranger diagrams it shows DLC(aka OBD port) power as:
Fuse 29, 20amp in cab fuse box(smart junction box)
Yes, it also powers "Front cigar lighter"
Fuse 29 gets power from Fuse 3, 40amp, in engine fuse box, but if it was blown other systems would be off line as well
You check a fuse by pulling it out and connecting it to a meter to test continuity, other than that replace it
"Looks good" is not a test
