2009 Ranger impossible to fix vibration.
2009 Ranger impossible to fix vibration.
hello, I have a Ford ranger 2009. it's 4 cylinder, 2wd and made in Thailand. Has 170k km and I got it 2 weeks ago.
I've been facing great trouble with vibration at 40 to 70 kmph. I showed the truck to made mechanics and garage. They asked me to change ball joints and u joints, rubber bush. Pretty much all done but the vibration still exists. Tire are pretty new and I did wheel alignment and wheel balancing.
I did all they asked me to do but the vibration didn't stop.
It doesn't happen in the steering wheel, mostly the body itself, seats, floor and many plastic covers. Seems very annoying but stop beyond 80.
I Read many forums and what people said I've done. I checked the drivelines, doesn't vibrate. Few mechanics checked it after lifting it and reving the wheels in air. The suspension, arms and all the stuff is solid and makes no noise or sound. Confirmed all good by mechanics. Seems like I've spent over 600 usd already and the problem still exisits.
Totally lost. Specially I have fallen in love with the first ford I've ever bought.
Thank you

First test is the coast test
If possible shift to neutral and coast downhill to see if its an engine related vibration, 4cyl engines vibrate, they only fire every 180deg so are NEVER smooth, just tolerable, lol
Tires can be Load Balanced, also called Road Force Balanced
This will detect tire defects that will cause vibrations, especially helpful on new tires
A partially torn belt won't show up in a spin balance, only a Load Balance
