2010 to get REAR disc Brakes!

2010 to get REAR disc Brakes!

i just read this on RPS, was wondering if anyone else has seen/hears about this. heck yeah, it this is true, time for a conversion to 10' brakes

im not sure if its true or false yet..

EDIT: Nevermind, i found out its TRUE!!!!!!!!

this is from the ford ranger website on Ford.com



it clearly states that it has rear discs brakes!!! (well you can really see it that well but its there) just go to here to see it:

i heard that too. starting in 2010 ford is putting the RSC on all of there trucks and that requires the use of disc brakes. at least thats what ive read.

Im going to my local dealership today I seen an 2010 there, I'll look for the rear disks and take some pics.

I'd rather get a ford disc kit for my level 2 than have all the electronic nannies on new fords

I seem to remember going through this before... and it was just an error on Fords site...

EDIT: I was right... from Ford's Media site

BRAKES
Front 11.28-inch disc

Rear 9.0-inch drum; 10.0-inch drum with Payload Pkg/S/C/4x4 models

Assist type Vacuum, ABS

The Ranger really does get disc brakes for 2010. I'm looking at the removal and installation manual on Ford's tech service website. Looks like a good setup.

I still don't buy it. If they got disks it would be on the Media Site, it's kind of big news. This isn't the first time they have been listed as having them and didn't.

Sweet!! I wonder if they really are vented like the picture shows. I also find it weird that there are two brake lines coming down from the frame, is that for the special brake change thing?

Interesting... that will be cool if it's true. And if it is I wonder why it wasn't mentioned, since it's kind of a big deal. Even the spec sheets show drum rear.

The Ford dealer by my office has three of them, I may swing by if the freeway is still backed up when I leave.

And the two brake lines are for the brake biased traction control and roll stability control systems. Its so that the computer can brake each wheel individually.
