The battery will drain overnight.
When you open a door the instrument panel flashes, parking lights flash, and the horn blows.
Pull fuse #9 it all stops. That fuse is for the ignition switch.

Possible bad switch, or something else down the line. Alarm sysem gone wonky?

something similar happened to our thunderbird. This was back in 96’ so I don’t remember much, but I vaguely remember it was an issue with the alarm. Did this issue happen after you happened to jumpstart our vehicle?

 

Went to go somewhere one day a month ago, and the battery was low, not dead. Put the charger on it, and it started fine an hour or so later. No jump-starts.
The next day the battery was dead, and each time after.
Went to Autozone to have it checked. Battery and charging is fine, so I knew there was a draw on it. Started pulling fuses until the alarm LED on the dash went out.

I'm going to take it to a shop this week. 68 with a thyroid problem tells me I don't want to troubleshoot it. I just need to know what to tell them I have found.

 

I have some more info. Took it to a shop to have the trans fluid changed, oil change, and look at why the alarm is so wonky.
They said it appears it is a factory Remote Start System, installed aftermarket. Oooookayyy.
The only thing they could do ws remove the CODE systems box, which is indeed a Ford part. P/N 7l3j-19g367-aa ... and FCC ID goh pcgen2

It is the Gen2 Gold version. (MyKey). At least that's what the DNA module says on it.

Since they removed it, I have no power locks, remote start, alarm system. Everything works on the truck. Lights, radio, etc. etc.

Now, should I take a chance and buy a replacement. hoping it is just the module that is bad? I've seen many on Ebay, the Gold version, but the part numbers don't match in all instances. Such as some I've found are P/Ns al2j-19g367-aa with the al2j being the different sequence.

Any insight is appreciated.

 

Nobody knows about the Remote Start modules?
