'87 Ford Ranger - Manual Steering grease?

Hi everyone,

My wife just picked up a 1987 Ford Ranger from the original owner who was a "Master" mechanic. Only 26K miles on it and lots of parts changed. However, it has manual steering. Am I able to add some grease/lubricant to the manual steering? I tried looking in the Haynes manual but it's not really descriptive. It turns fine when driving but of course not as easily at very low speeds (expected). I was just wondering if there's anything I can do to make it turn easier. Thanks in advanced.
