Convert 96 XL from Manual to Power Steering

I bought my son a 1996 Ranger XL with a manual transmission and 2.3L engine. The steering is very sloppy, joints at the pitman arm are shot. Before I start fixing those things I thought I'd look into converting it from Manual to Power Steering. Looks fairly straight forward. It has the open area by the block for the pump and there's even a pulley that is attached to nothing in it's place, I'm guessing so that there would be only one belt no matter if it is power and manual steering.

So here's the question.. where do I start and what do I need? or does anyone know where I can find a schematic of the setup with part numbers I ca use to order parts?

I'm not a mechanic but I've tinkered some and I thought this would be a good project for me and my son and his first truck. Thanks for the help in advance.

Thanks for the help. I get what most of this is but what's the cooler? Also any chance the gear box that is on it is the same one used with power steering except it has the holes for the hoses plugged? A friend of mine thought it might be possible.

Thanks again.
