91 explorer axle using ford performance disc conversion

ok i need to verify that this will work.

ive talked to Bill (04lvl2) and Todd (tmsoko) about the kit and I'm pretty sure it will work after talking to them but just want to throw the question out there.

using the Ford Racing 5-Lug Rear Truck Axle Disc Brake Conversion Kit part number M-2300-G from Summit Racing I want to know if there are any significant differences between the ranger axle and a 91 explorer 31 spline. I'm pretty sure it will work but not 100%

thanks for the help.

i dont care about how the ebrake will work just the brakes themselves and the kit fitting on my axle.

Ok i am confused now

I want to know if there are any significant differences between the ranger axle and a 91 explorer 31 spline.

Your axle is 28 spline you currently have so it will not work on your current axle but you know that so not sure what you are asking. Like 31 spline from a 91 to a newer 31 spline ranger axle

And you dont answer your phone lol damn you

You can't use it on the 28 spline. Only the 31 spline -- but I guess you know that.

yea im talking strictly brakes. i want to know if this kit will work and allow the C clips to slide back on. I know some have issues with that because of the length of the axle.

they are 10.5" on rangers and the 91 explorer, but that shouldn't matter.

If you do not install the ebrakes then there will no issues with installing the c clips. If you install the ebrakes then it is a little tuffer becuase you have to install the ebrake hardware after the axle is locked in.

IT FITS ALL SOLID AXLE EXPLORERS WITH OR WITHOUT DRUM BRAKES. PERIOD. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME.

Did you hear that?

You can't move your Ranger brakes to the Explorer axle (should you with to do that in the meantime) unless you have the explorer backing plate. Although the shoes and drums may be compatible, the backing plates are not.

Some 4x2 Rangers have 9" brakes also -- none of their stuff is compatible to swap over.

That should cover all possibiliities, lol, since your questions are VAGUE amigo!
