Having intermediate starting problems. New starter, fuel pump, fuel filter, coil, crank position sensor and I have checked the relays and fuses are all hot and are working. I don't know if it's a grounding issue or what. I replace a sensor or fuse and it will work again for a few weeks and then will crank and crank but won't start. Will sit over night and could start the next day.
So engine always cranks, just doesn't always start?
Watch the CEL(check engine light)
It should come on with key on, means computer has booted up
Then CEL should GO OFF when starter motor starts to turn engine over, this means computer is seeing crank sensor and has started spark and then fuel injectors
If CEL goes OFF then either you have no spark or no fuel inside the engine
So you do the 50/50 test, always the first thing you should do with a Crank but No Start(after check for CEL going OFF)
50/50 test
Spray fuel into the engine
Gasoline, ether(quick start), even carb cleaner
Try to start engine
If it starts and then dies your spark and compression are good, but no fuel delivery
If it doesn't start then no spark or no compression
50/50 instant results
So don't waste your time "thinking" you know what it might be, just do the test and you will KNOW what the problem is
New coils, wires, spark plugs or new filters and pumps DO NOT MATTER
Just get a can of Quick Start(ether) and do the test at the next No Start
"New" used to mean "tested and it works"
New now means "YOU TEST IT, and we will replace it if it fails", a warranty
So the more parts you swap out the worse it can get for you, lol, because you "think" something is working because its new, so you can end up chasing your tail around troubleshooting a "new" problem along with original problem
It ain't fun, been there done that many many times
