98 ford ranger fuel gauge
1989 and up Fords use these OHMs for fuel gauge/sender
16 ohms EMPTY
160 ohms FULL
A disconnected wire = 5,000+ ohms, so well above FULL mark
So either the Sender in the tank is bad, or the wire to the gauge is
Two ways to approach this
Pull out the cluster and test the Yellow/White wire's OHMs with a meter(center connector pin 12), should be between 16 and 160 if sender is OK, if so then sender is good and problem is in the cluster, Anti-slosh module usually
OR
Slide the bed back and test sender at the gas tank
