Should be flashing you a dummy code...

like 2 fast flashes... then a pause... and 7 flashes...

Watch the airbag light when you first start it up. It should give you a repeated 2-digit Light Flash Code like 1-2-1-2-1-2 or 3-5-3-5-3-5 or something else. Then it will go solid.

The LFC is the key to diagnosing your problem. Post it here and also the year of your Ranger.

Sorry, I thought you could make the transition from LFC to Light Flash Code since they were both in my post above.

ford ranger xlt 4x4 4.0 v6 ohv 162k miles
I don't see the year in your current signature.

The airbag light flashes when a code is stored. It does this for a short while after keying up and then periodically while driving.
