Airbag Light (not connector problem)

Okay the airbag light is on since I bought the truck 3 months ago; its a 07.
I've read a lot about that connector under the seats; does this still apply to these rangers, or only the older ones ??
Btw I tried disconnecting & putting back all the connectors under both seats, that did'nt change anything.

And how do you know what code it is ?? When I turn on the ignition, the light is on, then goes off for 2 or 3 secs; then comes back on forever.

The guy I bought the truck from told me that he went to the dealer for this problem, they found the problem, which was under warranty, he only needed to get back there at some other time to get it fixed, but he did'nt. I'll try to argue with the dealer...

You have to count the blinks. It will be like 2 blinks, 2-3 second pause then 6 blinks. Count them and then post it up and someone will tell you what it is.

yeah that would help alot, but it does'nt blink.
As I said, it just gets on at the beginning, just like all the other ones (Check engine, battery etc) goes off, and then back on, it does'nt blink.

There are no Light Fault Codes for 2007 and newer Rangers. So it is not possible to diagnose the system without a special code reader.

Alright thanks; I'll stop trying to solve this myself..... if it's too xpensive (not free) at the dealer, I think I'll just throw away the fuse, or the bulb, or the perfect solution !!!

I just went to the dealer and learned that warranty ended in feb.....
Now I'm just trying to find a way to turn off the light; I don't mind if airbags are'nt working correctly.

Any ideas ?? Or things that could make the bags blow into my face if I try something....

In the U.S., the warranty on the Restraints System is 5 years or 50,000 mi (80,000 km), whichever comes first. You should check to see if something similar is in effect in Canada. Don't take the dealer's word for it; check your glovebox warranty manual or call Ford of Canada.
