So I’m here because I’ve literally exhausted all other efforts with my 2.3 94 ranger short cab and bed. I’ve replaced dimmer switch. Pulled gauge cluster and inspected the circuit board on the back along with the bulbs. Seems ok. Replaced door jamb switch on driver side. Passenger was good. Pulled the radio to see if any wires are loose. Fastened connections and put the radio back. Checked fuses and reseated them. Even replaced a few that didn’t need. After all this I still can’t figure out why I lost the power to the inside. It all started when I shut the door. Radio, dash, dome, and door lights operated fine beforehand. Then one day as I get out of the vehicle with it running, shut the door, all lights and radio died. Do I have a harness issue? This truck is too cheap to shop and I really don’t have time to let it sit somewhere as I use it for work everyday. Please help. Any and all input is gratefully accepted!

 

Did you check the fuses under the hood?

 

Yep that was the first thing I checked.

 

Now check for power at the fuses.

 

I just needed to start over with a multimeter! Thank you for that input it was exactly what I needed to here
