Any Body work guys in here?

So about 7mo ago I TAPPED a guy in a dodge ram at a red light. He had a Hitch receiver that was at the perfect height to hit my bumper, leaving it looking like:

That gap from the edge of the bumper to the fender is about 2 inches wide and very noticeable. Well I tried taking a hydraulic jack and lifting the bumper back to the fender and it helped a bit but their is still about a 1 inch gap. It goes all the way up but comes back down when I releave the pressure. Is there a way to make it stay? Leaving it jacked overnight? Heat? I believe the Impact bent the bumper supports. but those are welded to the frame I cannot replace those.

Also I bought new airbags along with the SRS Module. Is that all I would need to replace in order for that ****ing light on the dash to go away. My seat belts work fine...do I still need to replace the tensoiners?

is it bent or just tilted down? Mine did that and it was just the mounts that moved. I had to loosen the bolts and put it back up.

Just straighten them with a hammer, heat is optional. If necessary you can shim the bumper for final fit.

+1

Id try the brute force before going at it with heat. Your bumper brackets are probably trash too so if you can, try and secure some more, and maybe even a new bumper when funds allow. For now though, straighten the frame ends the best you can, and do what you can for the brackets. Youll probably have to use those shims to get it near where it should be, but at least at a glance itll look alright.

As far as the airbags, when we did bags at the shop, we usually got the module, the bags and a clockspring in the steering wheel usually got damaged too when the bag blows. I dont know exactly whats under the bag in the Ranger, but those are the basics so check for the other horn and CC functions if you have them.

JY or dealer are your only options that i know of. Ive never seen something like that (safety item) that has been offered from the aftermarket. Check around Ebay too. It shouldnt be expensive used.

Tapped= slow enough to watch the airbags go off and never hit them.
