Turn on the lights, blow a fuse

So, whenever I turn on my headlights, I blow my fuse that serves my ABS and my brake lights. Also, lost my dash lighting at the same time. That fuse is ok. EVERY time I put a new fuse in, I'm good to drive until I need my headlights. The second I pull the light switch, the fuse goes. You can even hear it. Also, the altmeter goes to 8, then recovers after the fuse goes. Any clue? 94 Ranger with a 2.3 Manual

probably have a cut wire that goes to your headlights that is ground. when you flip the switch it gets power and grounds to the frame pulling way to many amps

Found a bad wire on my trailer lights connection that was exposed and corroded. I removed it, and things were working fine again until I was driving it on a test. Amps went to 18, then back town to about 9, and the engine struggled to hold. Then, the fuse blew again and we were back to square one. Any chance this is an alternator issue?

Found a bad license plate light. Blew out so hard it cracked the light bulb glass. Now the truck is fine... for now. I hate electrical problems.
