Battery Size on '99 XLT 4WD
Hi All,
Silly - and what should be a basic question - but what is the proper sized battery for a 1999 4.0 XLT 4WD Ranger? I have one that's only a year old and had to pickup a charger, (the truck sat for ages). I noticed the one the guy before me put in is "off". Like the battery cables have to go over/under the battery handle to get to the posts. I've seen some OEM engine images and the posts seem to be mounted on the other side of the battery. When I try an online search, I'm getting all sort of varying answers from the large auto part stores. Just curiuos if anyone knows off hand - and Thanks!

Check out the specs on both batteries, if equal, then give it a try.
While its warmer, it may not be a problem, but when the cold sets in the performance of the battery will go south fast.
Get the one that has the largest case that will fit the tray and the highest "Cold Cranking Amps" !
