Best way to connect Amp power wire to battery?

When I put my system in my truck, the end of the power wire that connects to the battery has a ring type connector, and I couldn't get the bolt out of the battery cable b/c it has like a prong holding it in, so I just cut the end of the ring to open it up so I could slide it around the bolt......I need a permenant (sp?) fix.........what I have now has been put on and taken off the battery now so many times, and dont thing it will hold up much longer. So how did ya'll attach em?

You can cut the ring connector to get it on.

New battery terminals are in order. Also i suggest the "big 3" upgrade.

I'll try that again...........also, why does it spark when I first touch the power wire from my system to the battery post? I touch it to the post the first time and sparks once, then touch it the second and it dont spark.......its done it will my last truck too. Why does it do it?

The power amps have fairly large capacitors in them. When they first get power they draw a lot of current to charge up.

you sure its not backwards? not that its not an easy fix, you can easily switch the tip. but usually the ring tip is for a bolt to go through it on the battery

I have something similar. It works well.

It replaces the original battery terminal that attaches to the positive post. Various sized openings for different gauged wire.
