What is the best way to up the power?
I have a 2009 2.3L 4 cylinder. I had a 4.0L in my 96 which was nice. I pulled a small trailer with 16 pallets up to my buddies house in Wisconsin, which was a 5 hour drive. I could pull it no problem except the RPMs were obviously higher than usual. I'm looking at a chip but I'm very new to this. I found one on this site http://www.gfchips.com/fordranger.aspx if anyone could tell me if they've heard anything about it or if you are a little more knowledgeable than I am. Or you could also leave me any other suggestions you may have (preferably ones that won't break the bank). Thanks

I would just do a 302 swap.
By the time you got the little 2.3 to run half as well as a 4.0, you could've bought said 302 and swapped it in.
That's the next thing on my list after the bumpers, etc... a good old V8 swap... obviously I would go through the engine well and replace all seals and such while it's easy to do so...
