Both turn signals stopped working

95 ranger XLT 3.0

Both my turn signals have stopped working, nothing happens at all when I use them, there isn't even any indication on the dash.

Every now and again out of habit when I use my blinkers it will flash 1 time and then nothing. Sometimes I can hear like a buzzing clicking sound from behind the dash so I am thinking it's a relay but I'm not so sure. My hazards work perfect, so I'm second guessing myself of its the relay.

My fuses are good and I've already installed a new multi function switch.

Help please..

In 1995 check fuse #22 in cab fuse box 15amp

There is only 1 flasher starting in 1995 so if hazards work flasher is most likely OK, it is located under driver side dash, will be yellow or blue, turn on Hazards to locate it, pull it out and have a look at the contacts, replace as you see fit

If fuse is OK, and flasher looks OK then turn signal switch(multi-function switch) may be the problem

When a turn signal bulb burns out it will not Flash on that one side, dash light will come on and stay on, but no flashing, that means either front or back bulb on that side is burned out(or disconnected)

All the bulbs work, I've verified that and I've already put in a brand new multi function switch. All the fuses are good. It's weird that I don't even get the flashing arrows on the dash either. Idk what the problem is.

What about the Flasher?

On the multi-switch wiring there will be a Light blue wire, that should have 12volts with key on, from the flasher and fuse 22

When this wire is connected to the light green/white stripe wire, the left turn signal should come on and then flash

When the light blue wire is connected to White/light blue wire the Right turn signal should come on and start to flash

So not a complicated system

You may want to pop off the steering column covers and test the wiring, you can use a short jumper wire to connect these wires together at the connector

The Flasher opens and closes only when its 12volt power is being used by 3 bulbs, thats why it stops flashing when a bulb burns out, not enough power is being used
And its why it will flash a bit faster if you add a 4th light bulb, like on a trailer

Same problem

Im having the same problem

replaced the multifunction switch, relay, checked the fuses

It sounds like something is rotating and clicking in the steering column sometimes when it doesn’t work. So I’m convinced it’s a mechanical issue but I’ve been unable to find what exactly or how to fix it
