BUMPY RIDE

I have a 2001 Edge supercab 2wd.
I recently replaced all 4 shocks with Bilstein as well as 4 new tires. Front upper control arms (including ball joints) and the after market adjuster bolts for aligning the front end.
BUT IT'S STILL A BUMPY RIDE!!!

What could it be? The lower ball joints seem okay. You'd think new tires and shocks would help.

Bumpy as in harsh? Or bumpy as in "she rides like the SS Dale"

If the ride is harsh, you might consider a strut/shock that is "softer"

If the ride is boatish, you may have some worn springs, front and back. Personally my truck is also quite bouncy, but its also 20 years old with 225k on the clock LOL

Thanks.
Would you believe the fine people at Bilstein said it would ride smoother than oem shocks. It's not boaty. I just feel every imperfection in the road

Same here, that’s just how these trucks are. I’ve owned an 87 Nissan Hardbody, 89 Toyota Pickup and they all have a bumpy ride. New shocks will just make the ride bumpier. It’s so bad that when I’m turning in an intersection that has potholes, the rear end of the truck bounces up and almost starts drifting.

Check tire pressure and make sure they are not over inflated.

Some tires will be stiffer than others.

With a full tank of gas, is the ride less bumpy?

Two things,
1) Shock maybe gas shocks verses Hydraulic shock, Gas Shocks always seem to ride harder. Gas Shocks were designed for racing because of less fade and then someone had the bright idea to adapt them to Road Trucks.
2) You said two things that lead me to the answer,
2a) It's an EDGE and uses Torsion Bars, they maybe adjusted too much.
2b) You said you replaced the front end pieces, again, T-Bar adjustments maybe off after front end work.

A lot of people use the T-Bar as a Lifting Device to get the front end level with the rest of the truck.
Your Mechanic may have thought he was doing you a favor by adding lift, i.e CRANKING THE T-BARs.

Just thinking out loud.
