A/C field coil r&r

Hey guys, I haven't been here for a while
Is there an easier way to R&R the a/c clutch coil without buying $450 worth "special" ford tools, or paying dealer that much.

I may not have your answer but are you sure the coil is bad? I thought mine was too when the compressor would stop cycling after a few miles.

After taking to a shop and they wanted to replace the compressor for $1000 or whatever, no thanks

I did tests with a test light and everything was working like it should, I would smack the clutch and it would pull in for a few seconds.

I took the front piece off only (8mm bolt) and cleaned a bunch of crud out of the splines with brake cleaner and now my A/C is ice cold.

I have an 2010, so I don't know if the compressors are different or not. hope this helps.
