A/C recharge

My Ranger says that it takes 32 oz R-134a (2 pounds)

The cans I bought are really confusing me.

On the can it says (Equivalent to 18oz (510g) R12 - 16oz (453g) R-134a
Net weight (6oz)

So what does that all mean in relation to the required 2 pounds?

How many cans do I use? Does the required 2 pounds mean net weight or what?

Thanks

What year Ranger?

A little confused was your system drained completely and vacuum tested?

If an R-134A system was completely drained then it may take 1lb and 12oz not the full 2lbs

generally speaking a can of R-134A is 12oz

16oz in a pound, so 2.3 cans of 12oz R-134a if its empty, compressor should come on after 2 cans are in, then watch pressure gauges for top up

What brand is the R-134A can you have?

It's a 2010 Ranger 4.0L
Yes. I had the system emptied at the garage. I have to replace the compressor.
I am in Canada so all I can use is 12A

2010 should have come with R-134a so that's the 2lbs

So one can of the refrigerant shown = 16oz/1lb of R-134a, 2 cans = 2lbs
So you would use just under 2 cans to get the 1lb 12oz, you can go to the full 2 cans, that's up to you, I am not a full time AC guy by any means, lol, just recalling what I have been told by the ones who are

Same "size" R-12a system would be rated as 2.25lbs of R-12a just FYI, which would also be 2 cans of above, at 18oz per can

Yes, 2lbs of R-134a, but most AC guys recommend 1lb and 12-14oz

I'm still a bit confused
So many guys have videos where they put the tank on a scale and put in the about according to the scale.

If I did that then I would only get 6oz per can. It would take 4 cans but the can says its 16oz-R-134a and net weight is 6oz
I actually weight the can and it is only 6oz of 12A (actually 8.75 but that includes the can)
