Turn Signals are acting wierd. not flashing, just staying lit

happened to me for the first time on the way home today. turned my right turn signal on and my gauge cluster arrow flashed and then got dim and stayed lit. When I stopped to get gas i went out and checked them and they worked with the lights off, but once i turned my lights on they would light, and then stay on constant.

any ideas of what it could be, i dont get why they only act weird when the lights are on

Could be a bad chassis ground at one of the sockets. If the turn signals work with the lights off they maybe grounding back through the park lamps.

possibly a connect came unplugged?? i think all the blinkers stay on "high" if a connector is unplugged in the blinker circuit.

That's what I was thinking. That or a muffler bearing is going out, causing massive vibrations, and making the blinker fluid surge around in the reservoir so that there is improper flow to the blinkers.

haha.. That could totally be it..You better hope not though, this is much more serious than just needing to fill your blinker fluid though..

i checked it and it was fine. i even have the synthetic fluid to get some extra power out of the lights

on another note. they work again today... so explain that to me, just another ford engineering issue that makes zero sense...

rumor has it that you do not need to remove the pannels and that it is yellow. I dunno about the accuracy of that info.

It could be one of the bulbs as well, if a filament in the bulb is touching the brake lamp portion of the bulb it could cause it. Swap the bulbs from the left to the right side and see if it changes sides.
