cleaning my maf sensor.......?

cleaning my maf sensor.......?

i want to clean my MAF sensor so i took it off and there is nothing to this thing.

i figured maybe there would be a screen or somthing inside it but no.

when you clean these things, what r u suppose to clean?

QD contact cleaner in the areosol can....

To clarify the statement above "Spray the Filament". This does not mean you hit the filament with a lot of pressure. The filament is delicate..... You gently spray the air horn and the filament to remove any oil or possible dust that has collected....

it'll be dry in seconds, i use brakleen electro-motive. i've used it on my maf, my tranny, all kinds of stuff.

Reading these posts reminded me that it was time to clean the MAF again!!!
Removed the conical K&N air filter from the MAF adapter and gently sprayed throttlebody cleaner (electronics plastic sensor safe type) onto the filaments, air horn and inside of housing. By the time I reinstalled the conical filter... the cleaner had evaporated....
Not a bad idea to do this every couple months since it only take about 10 minutes..... Just call it preventative maintenance.

IF you look very closely... there are a couple fine wires inside the air horn of the MAF.
